S.O.S. Pets Israel has a secure donation page. Choose project: Rescue dogs from Yeruham (Bat EL)

Yeruham

Bat-EL has been rescuing and feeding stray dogs in the Yeruham region since 2012. Visit her Facebook page in Hebrew, for more information. Bat-EL does not speak English.

When I talked to Bat-EL, she shared her frustration, she receives no government support and depends on donations. Her business was also impacted by the war and she faces personal hardships. I will try to translate what she wrote:

“I feed dozens of stray dogs every day, I have been involved in animal rescue since 2012. I rescue many puppies every month. I take them to foster homes and then to animal shelters who try to find them a permanent home. I am an activist, but I have no support. I pay the expenses from my own salary and from individual donations.”

Yeruham city

Yeruham is a small, isolated city in the Negev desert. The climate is harsh and not suitable for stray dogs, puppies and cats. There is a war in Israel that effects the dogs in this region. In addition there are many reported cases of dog abuse and neglect within the Bedouin settlements in the Negev.

Rescuers in this region need to pay veterinary bills for these injured dogs. They need to vaccinate the dogs and purchase food, with no budget other then the small donations they receive. The animal rescuers in this region need your support!
